Further details about the role

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and talented Computing teacher to join our well-established and highly successful faculty whose students achieved exceptional grades in 2022. You will have a passion for teaching Computer Science and IT and the skills to inspire our pupils to succeed. ECTs are welcome to apply.

Our goal as a Faculty is to work to engender in our students an appreciation of the intrinsic value of Computing (in the form of both Computer Science and IT), and we want all students to achieve computing confidence through a deep understanding of the subject.

Computing subjects are highly valued at John Mason School and are taught from year 7 through to GCSE and A Level, alongside BTEC Tech Award Digital IT. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary teacher to play a key role in an important and growing subject area across the school.

The Faculty is committed to maintaining workload at a manageable level and ensures that practices are informed by evidence and evaluation. Written feedback is minimised and systems are in place to ensure whole-class feedback is effective and efficient. We are on a journey to improve our curriculum and assessment still further and this is an exciting time to join the Faculty and work alongside experienced and dedicated colleagues.

If you are committed to inspiring your students to learn how computing helps them to understand the world, feel the satisfaction of solving a challenging problem, and value the transferable computing skills developed though purposeful practice, then we encourage you to apply.
