We wish to employ from September 2020 a well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Computing and ICT. The post is permanent; full time or part-time will be considered and would suit an NQT or experienced teacher.
Computing and ICT are successful subjects and are very popular options. Both subjects are taught by a highly committed team of three IT teachers, supported by a team of five technicians. The faculty is committed to improving the ICT capability and digital literacy of all students. A good understanding of both subjects will support academic progress in all areas of the (school)
curriculum as well as equipping students with the skills needed for life-long learning.
All members of the IT team play an important role in the development of course materials.
Teaching and Learning
Plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to students at some or all of Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
Report on progress and any concerns to line manager and parents
Contribute to curriculum development work of the team
To provide high quality pastoral care as a tutor to a group of students in one year group
Essential educational requirements
Graduate (in related discipline).
PGCE or other appropriate teacher training qualification.
Qualified Teacher Status.
Essential skills and experience
Teaching (or teaching practice) in a secondary school .
Good classroom teacher (potential to be excellent).
Confident in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word).
Experience of teaching programming using Scratch and Python.
An understanding of computational thinking.
A good understanding of the e-safety agenda.
Motivation to work with children and young people.
Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours.
Committed to high standards from all students.
Love of IT.
Awareness of and commitment to equality and diversity.
