Teacher of Computing and ICT job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Computing and ICT, We invite applications from NQTs starting their career, or from experienced teachers looking for a new opportunity.

Shoreham Academy’s Computing department is thriving. Our results have been steadily increasing; in Summer 2019 we achieved 69% 9-4 in Computing and 94%% in i-media. This year, we will be aiming for even higher and our success can be attributed to the ethos we share in the department. We have recently moved to OCR Information Technologies due to increased student uptake at KS4.
We believe in collaboration and shared responsibility across the team. Each member plays a significant role in the success of our students and we are keen to support all teachers to develop their students as well as themselves to be the ‘best that they can be’.

As a department, we believe in offering each person a chance to lead and we offer responsibility to those who desire it. We are keen to promote within the department and hard work and dedication are truly recognised and rewarded. This is true of both the school and the Computing department.

The Computing department aims to inspire and nurture the use of technology, in our well-resourced department, through engaging, and challenging curriculum. As a result, our curriculum is designed to enrich and broaden the minds and perspectives of our students. We cover a broad range of ICT and Computing topics at Key Stage 3, preparing students to take GCSE Computing and/or Information Technologies at Key Stage 4. Students can then opt to study Computing at A-Level, or Cambridge Technical in IT at Key Stage 5.

The Computing department is looking to appoint a hardworking and dedicated individual who is committed to the progress of all students across the department. We are interested in applicants who have a real passion for Computing and ICT and can demonstrate this enthusiasm in the classroom.

The Computing department is expanding, and we are looking for a team member who is keen to be involved and is passionate about maintaining a high standard of delivery within the department. We value leadership at all levels and we would be looking for an applicant who has ambition and who would be willing to take on additional responsibility within the team. Our team puts the needs of the students at the very centre of all we do and we need a teacher who shares this understanding of their role.
