The Governors of Holy Trinity School wish to appoint a dynamic, proactive candidate to teach KS3 and KS4 Computing. At Key Stage 4 we require teachers of Cambridge National / BTEC IT and iMedia, so the ability to teach these would be beneficial. This post presents a good opportunity for either a newly qualified/or more experienced practitioner to experience working in this successful and friendly department. It is for an initial 1-year fixed contract, with the potential for a future permanent contract.

The Computing department at Holy Trinity School is a forward-moving department which is keen to expand and develop the teaching of Computing. The department forms part of the Computing & Business faculty, although Computing has an independent identity within this. We offer a range of courses including, A level Computer Science, GCSE Computer Science, Cambridge National IT (moving to BTEC DIT), and iMedia. At KS4 we typically have one class of each subject.

We offer:
• a salary in line with the school’s policies on Pay and Appraisal; a mentoring programme for NQTs; a comprehensive induction, and a good programme of CPL. Any full terms would count towards completion of an NQT year.
• Engagement of all teaching staff in the TEEP programme to enhance our teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Professional learning delivered for all stages of career development and supported through the LA and universities.
• A supportive, collegiate culture with open minds where your enthusiasm, commitment and passion for making a difference to the lives of our students, will be supported.
• an easy commute via public transport from Brighton, and from other parts of East and West Sussex and from Surrey. Many staff operate car share schemes and we have on site parking.

Applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to the teaching of Computing. Those expecting to be paid at the upper end of the given pay range will need to evidence how that is merited in their application. We require practitioners who have the enthusiasm, skill and ability to make a positive contribution to this motivated and successful team. The successful candidates will be committed to teaching across the 11-16 range. For candidates with the appropriate skill set there are opportunities available to teach at KS5. Applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to excellent teaching and learning; to securing good or better outcomes for students; to developing student potential and skills from KS3 onwards, and to promoting the study of the subject at all levels.

Visits to the school are welcome and can be arranged via HR. An information pack is available on request.

We are seeking candidates who will commit to upholding our values and ethos as a faith school; however, applicants do not need to be a practising Christian.
