Are you passionate about Computer Science, IT and digital media and would like to join a thriving Computing team that delivers excellent results to students? Rainhill High School, including Rainhill Sixth, is the place for you!

As a result of growth in student learners in these subject areas, we are seeking to appoint an ambitious, talented, and innovative Teacher of Computer Science, IT and Media who has a thirst for knowledge and the drive to succeed, to teach at GCSE and Post 16 in a popular and high achieving school on the edge of Merseyside.

We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.

Good Degree in relevant subject area

PGCE in relevant subject area

QTS/QTLS

Evidence of further professional development at Masters level.

Familiarity with the A level and Vocational BTEC L3 syllabus requirement for IT, Computing and Media subjects

Familiarity with GCSE and BTEC L2 requirements for IT, Computing and Media subjects

Experience of teaching BTEC Media Studies at L3

Track record of excellent examination results

Experience of teaching Computing and IT up to A Level

Evidence of excellent teaching – at least Good judgments

Evidence of “Outstanding” practice

Ability to understand and demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity

Rainhill High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form centre located in Rainhill, Merseyside, England.

The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017.

More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson MAT and was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2023. The Academy is working hard to make a difference to staff workloads by investing time, technology, and support to make Rainhill High School and Rainhill Sixth an attractive place to work.

Our vision is one of excellence for everyone, pupils and staff. We believe that by working together we can make a positive difference to children’s lives.

Stephenson Trust is currently a single school in a multi academy trust. We have several external partners, including Hope University, Ambition Institute, The Fowler Education Faculty, SSAT, Rainbow teaching school hub and the educational endowment fund.
