Applications are welcome from newly qualified and experienced teachers of Computing and ICT who have high standards, commitment, passion and the ability to teach across the full range of age and ability, up to and including A-Level.
We invite you to join a department focused on delivering a broad Computing curriculum, providing opportunities for learners of all abilities to access Computer Science in a fun and engaging way. A flexible practitioner, you will teach across a wide ability range while maintaining high expectations for all learners. Knowledge of Computer Science and programming are essential as well as a desire to help every child fulfill their potential.
The department is dynamic, supportive and successful with a long history of excellent results at KS4 & 5 (2018 GCSE Computer Science, 63% 7 - 9). We have an exciting programme of study at KS3 with an emphasis on how computers work, data handling, HTML and programming in particular. At KS4/5, we currently teach GCSE Computer Science, Level 2 BTEC in Creative Media Production, A level Computer Science and Level 3 BTEC ICT.
Our standard loading factor is 22/26. Where timetables comprise less than 22 teaching periods (or the agreed number for TLR post holders), you may be required to cover other classes. A TLR may be available for the right candidate.
