Teacher of Computing job summary
The Royal Grammar is a lead school in the Computing at Schools Network of Teaching Excellence. We are the only secondary school in Buckinghamshire to hold this accolade. The Department is heavily involved in outreach work in the local community through the CAS group and hosts the local hub for the Buckinghamshire region. In addition, the School is a centre for teacher training in Computer Science, providing CPD courses ranging from Primary School level right up to Advanced level. During the summer of 2016 over 60 teachers attended a one-week Python Programming Course – the biggest such training event since CAS was formed in 2009 and the largest in the country. This event brought together teachers from around the world, including Japan, the Middle East, Brazil, South Africa and the United States. There is real potential for any teacher joining the department to make a contribution to this work.
Commitment to safeguarding
The Royal Grammar School is committed to promoting the safety and welfare of all pupils.
Appointment is conditional upon at least two satisfactory references.
All staff are required, before taking up post, to undertake an enhanced criminal record check through DBS.
Social media checks will be carried out prior to interview.
