What skills and experience we're looking for

Criminology is a successful and vibrant ‘Level 3 Diploma’ course offered at HSFC. Since first being introduced in 2017 it has grown in popularity each year. We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking teacher to add to the College’s continuing success.

The successful candidate needs to have both a good sociological and psychological knowledge of criminality and an understanding of law and policy making. They must also be keen to keep abreast of new developments.

They will work with staff to help maintain and build on past achievements, by bringing enthusiasm and commitment along with new ideas to a department which welcomes innovation. The sharing of good practice, including lesson resources, is actively encouraged in order to deliver highly effective courses that enable students to achieve excellent value-added results.

You will be committed to a departmental ethos based on high quality teaching, excellent examination results, shared resources and mutual support.

What the school offers its staff

The Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), formed on 1 April 2019 and delivers post 16 education in Hereford, Stourbridge and Worcester. Hereford Sixth Form College is part of this Trust. The MAT has an annual budget of £28m and serves the needs of 5,500 students across the region.
