What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for a social sciences teacher to join our team at Ringwood School and help us deliver our brand new L3 Criminology Course to two classes of enthusiastic sixth form learners in September 2023. We have introduced Criminology as our students have asked us to include this in our curriculum offer in our large and successful sixth form.
If you have a background in the sector or previous experience teaching in associated subjects like sociology or psychology, then you would be well-suited to teaching criminology too. The Level 3 Criminology Course dives deep into the criminal world, journeying through an analysis of criminal acts, the legal implications of crime, and preventative measures.
Please refer to the recruitment pack for further information.
What the school offers its staff
We believe that staff are our most precious resource and we commit to providing high quality professional development opportunities for our team, therefore we will support you if you have not taught Criminology before. If you were able to offer an additional subject, such as Psychology for example, or EPQ tutoring, we could offer you a bigger contract.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
