This is a wonderful opportunity for a colleague to join our thriving and successful school to assist us in achieving even greater success.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and talented Teacher of Dance who is looking to share their passion for the subject with our enthusiastic students. The post is part-time, 0.2 to 0.3 contract on a one-year fixed term contract. Applications from ECTs, as well as those from experienced teachers, are
welcomed. Early Careers Teachers will be joining a highly supportive department and will receive through training and guidance to secure the skills necessary for this role.
The candidate will teach Dance from Key Stage 4 to 5 and will join a highly successful Performing Arts Team. The candidate appointed will be expected to make a major contribution to the Performing Arts team in this high achieving ArtsMark Gold and ArtsMark Pilot School.
What the school offers its staff
Extra-Curricular Performing Arts at Chew Valley School is strong, with 20 lunchtime and after school clubs running each week across the department. We would welcome someone who is keen to extend this programme, through clubs, rehearsals and workshops. In particular, we are keen to continue to be able to run our annual Dance Festival, involving many members of the local and wider community.
The school has been through change in recent years including joining the Lighthouse Schools Partnership (LSP) Multi Academy Trust alongside a number of our feeder schools and Gordano and Backwell and Churchill secondary schools. Through this we are developing work of a mutually beneficial nature.
The school has a distinctive character and ethos which is unashamedly child-centred and emotionally intelligent in the way relationships are managed between staff, parents, students and governors. The school has a House system at the heart of its culture with vertical tutoring as a key facilitator. There are four houses - Bilbie, Hauteville, Moreton and Rodney.
