We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our successful, hard working, supportive and friendly team. You will have the opportunity to teach across the full age and ability range, working as part of a team delivering KS3 schemes of learning in Product Design, Engineering, CAD, textiles and food. Expertise in all areas is not a requirement, but a willingness to be flexible and an appetite to learn is.

For this particular role, it would be advantageous if you could teach (or have experience of teaching) an element of Art, Fine Art or Photography. Our departments work closely together and for the right candidate, there would be an element of cross over to further strengthen this close relationship.

The faculty is well supported and students opting to take all areas of the subject at KS4 is strong. It is an exciting time to join the team as we develop our curriculum further. A specialism and enthusiasm to teach GCSE in one (or more) of the following would be desirable: RM, Food/Catering, Graphics, Textiles, Engineering/Construction. If you are passionate about your subject and possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students, we look forward to hearing from you.

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify clear learning and teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Set tasks, including homework, which challenge students and ensure a high level of interest.
  • Establish and maintain a safe environment and purposeful working atmosphere which supports learning and in which students feel secure and confident.

About you

You should possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Ability to teach across a range of students of different ages and abilities.
  • A dedicated commitment to raising standards and supporting students at risk of underachievement.
