What skills and experience we're looking for

Acland Burghley School is seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Design Technology from September 2023 (or earlier), to join our friendly and successful staff team. We are looking to develop our Food Technology provision, and would welcome applications from candidates who can offer this specialism. This is an excellent career opportunity for a strong classroom teacher to work in a thriving city comprehensive which has inclusion at its core. You would be joining a dynamic Creative Arts and Technology team at an exciting moment for the school. Our technology workshops are well equipped and spacious, and have been supplemented recently by the addition of a Food Technology room. Our unique partnership with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, who now have their offices and rehearsals on our site, places Creative Arts at the centre of our curriculum vision. The successful candidate will be passionate about learning in Technology, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring that every child achieves the highest possible standards. Extra-curricular activities, including clubs and trips to galleries, are an important part of the offer. This post would be suitable for a well-qualified ECT, or a more experienced teacher looking for a different experience in a new context.
