Our Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a skilled teacher to join our design technology team. We currently offer a Key Stage 3 experience that prepares students for progression to GCSE as well as instilling a lifelong love of learning. We follow the AQA specification for both GCSE and A level Design Technology.

As our new Teacher of Design Technology, you will need resilience, emotional intelligence as well as the ability to work with and take colleagues with you. Coaching and mentoring will be in your DNA. As a colleague, you will play an important role in transforming our school and build upon recent successes, you will be working closely with a team who will support, develop and challenge you.

We are looking for:

• A proven track record of raising both attainment and standards of teaching and learning within Design Technology
• A strong vision and ethos that supports our values and culture.
• Teaching experience across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• The ability to transform children’s lives and develop a love of the subject.
• The ability to understand and apply a range of teaching strategies.
• Someone who will help to positively target and support individual learning needs.
• The ability to implement the aims and objectives of the school/trust understanding and working within school/ trust policies to achieve these aims and objectives.

Coast and Vale Learning Trust

The Trust was founded by Scalby Secondary School but has grown over the last few years to include Newby and Scalby Primary School, Friarage Primary School and the Scarborough University Technical College (SUTC) in Scarborough and Lady Lumley’s Secondary School in Pickering.
