What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Teacher of Design & Technology to join a team of teachers who are all passionate about teaching and its impact on learning. The department offers all areas of D&T at KS3 and GCSEs in Design and Food Preparation & Nutrition alongside Vocational Hospitality & Catering and Construction. Over the last few years, the department has seen a significant increase in results and a rise in numbers opting for KS4.
We are looking for an individual who can add to this already friendly and supportive team; a teacher who builds excellent relationships with students and inspires them in their learning. Ideally, you will be able to teach across all areas of Design & Technology at KS3 and be able to teach (or be willing to train to teach) Construction at KS4, although any specialism would be considered.
If you share our vision based on the unshakeable belief that children learn through all aspects of their daily lives and that their values and knowledge, experiences and habits are as important as their academic qualifications, we would be delighted to hear from you.
What the school offers its staff
A comprehensive induction programme is provided for all new staff. We are committed to continual bespoke professional development opportunities, e.g. access to peer coaching, non-whole-lesson observations, a 1% improvement culture and personalised training. Staff benefits include a two-week autumn half-term break, teachers’ pension scheme, staff wellbeing group, staff association, free gym use and ample on-site parking.
