Teacher of Design & Technology job summary
Would you like to work in a small school in a big community? At Prendergast Vale School we believe all our pupils can achieve success in life by working hard and being kind.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and inspirational Design & Technology Teacher from January 2023. This is an opportunity for a teacher to become part of an experienced and successful team of teachers who enjoy working together to raise the academic achievement of our students. Our KS4 curriculum offer is Product Design and Food & Nutrition.
The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4 Design & Technology to all ability ranges. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons and achieving excellent results for our students, instilling in them a love for the subject and a desire to learn.
Prendergast Vale School is a small all-through school providing high quality education from nursery to Year 11, which aims to transform the lives of all the children who attend the school. By keeping the school small, we have created a community of pupils and teachers where no pupil is left behind which has enabled us to create an environment in which pupils want to learn, achieve and behave well.
Prendergast Vale School is an all through school, nursery to Year 11, and rated as Good by Ofsted in February 2018. It is one of the top performing mixed schools for E-Bacc in Lewisham. The school benefits from being part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Federation.
Being part of a successful Federation of Schools, located in easy travelling distance of each other, enables the schools to support each other and share best practice and resources. It also enables the Federation to offer staff the opportunity to develop their career as we are committed to developing and promoting from within wherever possible.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a forward thinking staff and school leadership team who ensure that the academic and social development of every student is at the heart of what they do.
