Job summary

Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for the opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy. Based in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, we are located in the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.

We are seeking to appoint, from September 2021, a full-time dynamic teacher of Drama. The successful candidate will be teaching Drama to GCSE, A Level and BTEC and the ability to teach dance and/or music would also be desirable.

Our Performing Arts department is housed in a purpose-built block with superb state-of-the-art facilities. The school believes that a broader balanced curriculum is vital and ensures that students have access to a range of creative subjects. As a result, the school is well-known locally for the high standards of its dance, drama and music.

This post requires an enthusiastic, hardworking and conscientious individual with a strong track record who can communicate his/her passion for the performing arts through innovative, diverse and exciting teaching methods.

Applications from NQTs, experienced teachers or those returning to the profession will be welcome. We are committed to the development our staff; to support them to further their career, progress professionally and develop their teaching and leadership skills.

We have been graded ‘good’ following our latest SIAMS inspection (March 2020). “The academy is highly inclusive, and tireless in supporting all of its pupils and staff. Because of this, each person is known, nurtured and inspired. This enables them to make strong progress from their starting points”. Our OFSTED inspection in February 2017 also judged the school as ‘good’ in all categories.
