PSHE is an important part of our curriculum and our wider personal development offer. The academy benefits from a small team of staff who are well led with a developed scheme of learning. These lessons place a strong emphasis on reading and writing as substantive components, directly supporting the academy's priority of literacy and extended writing. This approach enriches students' ability to articulate their ideas and reflect on important personal, social, and ethical topics.
The Creative Arts Faculty is staffed by specialist teachers in Music, Art and Drama. We have a Drama Studio, green room, bespoke music room, art room and school stage on which we host musical and theatrical productions.

The Candidate
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated teacher of Drama and PSHE. 68% of the lessons will be within Drama. The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with an infectious passion for their subject and specialist subject knowledge to join us at Granville Academy. You will be part of a wider Creative Team and will receive excellent support and opportunities for development within the Academy and across the Trust.
You must be confident in the delivery of both areas at KS3 and KS4. You must have the ambition and dedication to continue to support the development of the curriculum and wider curriculum in line with current practice and research in effective teaching. You will be able to support the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively. You will be passionate about your specialist subject, recognise the importance and impact that this area of the curriculum has on a students wider life, on their ability to be responsible, moral global citizens; ready to take their place in a tolerant and diverse world, confident and well informed to articulate and engage in debate and community life. Your input will be invaluable and must aim to inspire students within and beyond your specialism.
