Teacher of Drama & English job summary
Required from September 2019 a forward-thinking and committed teacher to work in our successful Performing Arts and English departments.
We are seeking a practitioner with excellent subject knowledge who can successfully plan and deliver lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential. We are excited to be launching a new A-Level in Drama and Theatre from September 2019 and would be interested in receiving applications from individuals with experience of teaching this course. In addition, we have strong extra-curricular provision throughout the year and seek an enthusiastic individual who can add to this offer.
Based mainly in the Performing Arts department, the successful candidate will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 Drama, and KS5 Drama and Theatre. Within English, the candidate will be required to teach KS3 in the first instance.

Silverdale School is an extremely popular and high-achieving 11-18 comprehensive in the south west of Sheffield and is now the founding school of Chorus Education Trust. The school achieved the best GCSE results in 2018 of any state school in Sheffield. At Post 16 the progress students make places Silverdale in the top 10% of schools nationally. At its heart is one of the country’s largest Teaching Schools, the Sheffield Teaching School Alliance. Silverdale moved into a brand new building in January 2009 with a full complement of facilities. Silverdale School is part of Chorus Education Trust, and as such all appointees may be required to work at any Trust site in the future.
