JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a teacher in Drama to join our fantastic team at Havant Academy. You will be part of our exceptional Creative Arts department who all have a passion for the arts and developing the students to the best that they can be. Teachers at Havant Academy are expected to promote the highest possible personal and professional standards as an example to colleagues and students and promote good relationships and communication between all members of Havant Academy and the wider community.

As a Teacher of Drama at Havant Academy you will be required to:

Deliver high quality Drama lessons to our students aged 11-16
Plan and tailor lessons which address the full range of learners needs
Have high expectations of all pupils so that they are able to achieve their academic potential
Have a good working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies
Partake in the Academies rewards and behaviour systems
Be an enthusiastic and effective tutor by creative an inclusive and safe environment, fostering good home/school relations, monitoring your tutees attendance and progress and delivering the tutor PSHE programme.
For this role, you will have the following essential (E) and desirable (D) experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (E)
Teaching qualification in your subject of choice (E)
Evidence of further professional development (D)
A record of good or outstanding classroom teaching demonstrating passion and innovation in your teaching techniques (E)
Good communication skills with students, parents colleagues and stakeholders (E)
A clear understanding of the diverse needs of students and how to meet them (E)
Awareness of strategies to raise student attainment and manage behaviour (E)
Good understanding of the subject and its place in the national curriculum (E)
