The Faculty of Physical Education and Extended Learning
The Faculty comprises of Physical Education, Expressive Arts and Music. Associate Heads of Faculty oversee each of the principal subject areas and there is an enthusiastic and committed team of 20 teachers together with a Curriculum Associate to support the faculty with administrative tasks and student support.
The Expressive Arts Department is a thriving department. GCSE Drama is a very popular subject. Dance is a more recent addition to the option list. The Faculty is extremely supportive and will suit a teacher who is looking to work collaboratively with professionals who care about their subject, their students and the School.
We are looking to appoint a teacher of Drama to teach drama at Key Stage 3. Students in Year 9 have the ability to choose it as a subject to continue at GCSE level. The ability to teach other subjects within the Faculty of PEEL, particularly music, would be advantageous.
Extra-curricular work is very important to the Faculty, the students and to the School. The successful applicant will need to embrace this commitment and play a full and active part in the greater life of the School. In addition, the Faculty leads on extended learning across the school, opportunities exist for residential education and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic NQT or an experienced teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning. Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to the subject are essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an imaginative, creative and inspiring teacher to work in a supportive and energetic school where students are making significant and sustained progress.
Opportunities for further professional development are offered both in-house and through our membership of the Harrow Collegiate Teaching Schools Alliance and Brent Schools Partnership.
We offer Employee Assistant Programme and Cycle to Work Scheme.More on how to apply
