Teacher of Drama (Maternity cover, part -time 0.5 fte) job summary

We wish to appoint a part time (maternity Cover) Teacher of Drama to join our large Performing Arts team.

Due to move into brand new, purpose-built accommodation, Drama is an extremely popular option at Wymondham High with 111 students currently studying the subject at GCSE with these strong numbers continuing into the 6th form.
Attainment is high in Drama and pupils make strong progress from their starting points. Not only are the Performing Arts a cherished and valued part of our curriculum, we also see them as fundamental to the broader culture of our Academy.
Consequently, our extracurricular offer is vast. It currently includes staging biannual whole school musicals along with annual plays and showcase evenings.
The Academy also boasts a full orchestra, jazz band and show choir. We are proud to be one of only 20 Musical Futures Champion Schools nationally and over recent years, the department has built up an enviable reputation as a centre of excellence in the Performing Arts.
An ability to teach all Key Stages including A Level would be an advantage.
