Teacher of Drama or Curriculum Leader of Drama
Full-time, permanent.
We seek applications from applicants at any stage of their careers, including those seeking their first leadership experience within Drama.
Starting September 2020; later starts considered.
T & L point appropriate to the role

We are delighted to offer this opportunity to join Nunnery Wood High School, a successful, popular and exciting school. You will work with highly skilled and committed colleagues who have built a thriving Arts and Performing Arts department with excellent leadership throughout. A reputation for strong teaching and creative environments means that Drama and other Art courses are consistently popular at GCSE with a wide range of our students. Outcomes are generally excellent and the leadership team values Arts subjects as both essential to the curriculum and a fantastic example of the school at its best.

This role will allow the right candidate to take a strong subject-area in new directions: you will have the support, facilities and students already in place. Whatever you level of experience, whether looking for a straight teaching role or seeking leadership, we would like to hear from you. We are happy to shape the role around a suitably skilled teacher.

A new Art teaching block will be completed this term, complementing superb facilities already on site including dance and drama studios and a theatre with an orchestra pit. Many Art teaching rooms are fully equipped with Apple computers.

Nunnery Wood High School is oversubscribed and enjoys an excellent reputation in the region. Our last Ofsted report praised the outstanding behaviour and courtesy of our students and the respect that they showed to staff. Behaviour in Drama is also excellent. Our intake is broad, from the academically gifted to students requiring nurturing in numeracy and literacy. We are ambitious for them all and share a deep conviction that they should all reach their potential with us.

Application forms and further information are available from the vacancies section of the school website. Closing date for applications: Friday 5th June 2020, midday.

All applications must be made on the NWHS application form – CV’s will not be considered.

The successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS.
