What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and passionate teacher of Drama commencing September 2023. The academy is part of the Broad Horizons Education Trust.

A skilled subject specialist, enthusiastic and committed with the ability to deliver a range of Drama and Theatre disciplines. The ability to teach Musical Theatre would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will work alongside two specialist teachers, building, developing and maintaining effective teamwork within the curriculum area. The successful candidate will ensure their lessons are engaging to all learners, producing high quality exemplar materials and demonstrating a range of techniques, knowledge and approaches, whilst promoting a sense of self-worth through imagination and creativity. The successful candidate will be open to teaching within a department that is developing both Academic and Vocational courses in all Key Stages

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider aspects of The Creative and Performing Arts. As a school we believe passionately in the importance of SMSC and Personal Development alongside academic achievement. The successful candidate will be committed to offering both opportunities within the curriculum and via extra- curricular activities that inspire and motivate students and give them a sense of creativity, performance and awe and wonder.

As a valued member of an excellent Faculty within a vibrant school, we are looking for someone who will demonstrate the willingness and drive to make a significant contribution to the Drama Faculty and to the school. Enthusiasm, flexibility and team working are essential. We are looking for a person with good organisational skills and high standards; ability to work on their own initiative and also to be a good team player.
