Teacher of Drama job summary

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Drama lessons across Key Stages 3,4 and 5, ignite a passion for performance and creativity, and contribute to a culture of excellence and expression. Drama is a valued subject at The Streetly Academy, with strong senior leadership support and excellent outcomes at GCSE and A Level

At Key Stage 3, Drama is taught for one lesson per week, providing students with a broad and engaging foundation. At Key Stage 4 and 5, students follow the OCR GCSE/A Level Drama specification. Experience of teaching OCR is desirable but not essential; however, a working knowledge of the specification would be advantageous.

We are looking for:

An enthusiastic and inventive Teacher of Drama with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, and a willingness to teach at Key Stage 5

A committed team player with a passion for Drama and the wider performing arts, who can bring creativity and energy to the classroom

A teacher who is fully prepared to engage in extracurricular activities, including drama clubs, school plays and musical productions

An individual committed to delivering active and engaging learning that motivates and inspires young people

A teacher who can set targets that stretch and challenge students of all abilities and backgrounds

A professional with a strong commitment to their own continued professional development

The ability to teach another performing arts subject would be an advantage

The successful applicant will be supported by an excellent department and will have the opportunity to complete the Level 1 TEEP (Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme) as part of their professional development.
