What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and inspirational teacher with the passion and enthusiasm to fulfil a key role in the school as a Teacher of Drama. This post would suit somebody looking for their first teaching role, or someone with more experience, who would like to work in a thriving curriculum area. The key is that you are enthusiastic and capable of contributing to a highly effective and supportive teaching team. Drama is very popular and over subscribed GCSE option, and we are looking for someone with the enthusiasm to continue its success.

Weydon School is a large, ambitious and outstanding school in an unspoilt area of Surrey within easy reach of London. We are the Lead School for the Weydon Multi Academy Trust, comprising of ourselves, Woolmer Hill School, The Ridgeway School, The Abbey School, Rodborough, Park and Farnham Heath End School. The close proximity of these schools allows lots of opportunities for staff collaboration.
The Times frequently rates Weydon School in the top 10 across the UK for 11-16 schools, and achievements in Drama are exceptional. Creative Arts at Weydon is found in the purpose built medici building. The Medici theatre is a 250-seater theatre for concerts and productions as well as drama lessons, drama is well-resourced and has an exceptional reputation throughout the school and local area. Our recent Celebration of Creative Arts, showcased the exceptional students both past and present. It has been said that we have grammar school outcomes and independent sector facilities; our ongoing and recent successes clearly demonstrate this.
In 2022, 98% of Drama students achieved 4-9, 93% achieved 5-9 and 51% achieved 7-9. Colleagues and the leadership team are highly supportive. Students are respectful and responsive, and are proud to uphold the strong values of the school.
