Essential:
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have an Enhanced DBS Certificate
- Have the ability and quality to teach DT across the age and ability range
- Be a good, enthusiastic team member
- Be a reflective practitioner, who has the potential to develop his/her own career further
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and students
Desirable:
The successful candidate will:
- Have enthusiasm for DT
- Believe that students are capable of high standards, and expect them to achieve
- Have the capacity to develop our pupils in DT
- Enjoy working as part of a team and sharing expertise
- Be keen to contribute to the development of the department
- Have competent ICT skills
- Have experience teaching 2D Design and or CAD
- Have experience of teaching Product Design at KS5
What the school offers its staff
The Design Technology Team is a group of strong and reflective teachers consistently delivering great results in all subjects at GCSE and those offered at A Level. It is no surprise that DT subjects at Wallingford are popular options. You would be joining a team of specialist teachers who show all round ability, experience and commitment.
The Design Technology rooms and workshops are grouped together in one main corridor which allows for a close and supportive working environment. The accommodation comprises of a Product Design room, two Resistant Materials workshops, a Textiles room, two Food rooms, an ICT suite, a materials preparation room and a purpose built Sixth Form room.
This post will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to contribute to the work of the department in a variety of ways and we are looking for someone who is able to offer their own ideas, work as part of a team and teach across the age range.
