Teacher of Economics/Business Studies job summary
Our large and successful Sixth Form has a track record of high outcomes and is, consequently, well regarded within the school and wider community. Over 90% of Year 13 progress to university with five entering Oxbridge over the past two years alone. Around a third enter Russell Group universities, given that students achieve above the national average for grades A*/A with 61% achieving grades A*-B at A Level. Our BTEC National outcomes are also very good with superb progression to university and degree competitive apprenticeships.
The Faculty of Applied Learning
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Economics / Business to join our team in the Business department, a part of the Applied Learning Faculty. At KHS, Economic/Business Studies is successful at both GCSE and A-level, with a large cohort for A-level Economics, and offers GCSE Business, A-Level Business and (Level 3) BTEC National Business. These subjects are a highly popular option for students at Key Stage 4 and 5 with students achieving good results and many students going on to study these subjects at degree level at highly competitive universities.
With a strong track record of success in A-Level, this is an opportunity for a motivated and passionate teacher to make the most of our diverse student body and contribute to our team under the direction of the Head of Department.
The vacancy is suitable for an NQT or someone looking to broaden their teaching experience.
