We are looking to appoint an exceptional, enthusiastic and qualified teacher to join the Art, and Technology department for our 4-19 free school.
Across the UK the need for people in Engineering is increasing. At Gildredge House we offer a vocational Engineering course which inspires our students and prepares them to consider the subject as a career pathway. The school is equipped with tools and machinery to maximise pupil engagement.
The subject has received a very positive uptake from students and we look forward to the successful applicant helping us to continue to build the course together. The successful applicant will be prepared to play a full part as a team member in the development of the department.
Our ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement (November 2018) is a strong foundation on which to build and develop the school. The challenge is to sustain and further improve through every aspect of Gildredge House as the school continues to develop.
As Teacher of Engineering and Design Technology you will join an outstanding team of inspirational teachers, where you will ensure that our students enjoy and achieve highly in their learning. You will be an Engineering specialist in the secondary phase and if you do not already have experience of teaching the subject to A Level, you will keen to take on the professional development necessary. We ideally need a strong subject teacher as most of your teaching will be in Years 7 – 11. This is an exciting time to join our Outstanding Art, Engineering and Design Technology Department, with opportunities for professional development ranging from KS2 transition with Year 6 to supporting our Sixth Form students in choosing Engineering and Design technology at University.
Within the department you will find a team who are dedicated to providing engaging, stimulating lessons to students of all abilities, and classrooms where rapport and relationships are given the highest priority. We plan with creativity and teach with enthusiasm, ensuring that every student reaches their full potential. We aim to help students develop resilience and confidence in the face of a challenging curriculum, not only to prepare them for demanding examinations but also to foster a lifelong love of learning.
