About the Role
Armthorpe Academy is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join our committed and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school that is continually evolving its curriculum and teaching practice to ensure every student can thrive academically and personally.
You will deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of learning and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress
- Create a positive and disciplined classroom environment
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Support students’ academic and personal development as a Form Tutor
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external partners
- Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
- Can inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Has experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (or the potential to do so)
- Is committed to high expectations and student success
- Works effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrates resilience, professionalism, and a positive attitude
