What skills and experience we're looking for

York High School is looking to appoint an inspirational teacher with a proven record of outstanding practice, or the potential to be outstanding, to work within our English teaching team.

The English team is well resourced with a considerable range of textbooks, a substantial media library, a wide range of subject-based software and online teaching and learning resources. We also have an excellent Learning Resource Centre, which supports the teaching and learning of our pupils.

The successful candidate must have the ability to teach across the age and ability range, and inspire, motivate and challenge young people. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to contributing to the personal development of all the young people we teach.

Applications are welcome from both ECTs and experienced teachers.

We would strongly encourage any prospective candidate to visit the school. Please email Dawn Becton at d.becton@yorkhigh.southbank.academy if you would like to arrange a visit to the school.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 24 June 2024.

Further details about our school are available on our school website: www.yorkhighschool.co.uk

An application form, job description and person specification are available on the Trust website: https://southbanktrust.co.uk/careers

In addition, the Trust offers a range of staff benefits, including enrolment in the excellent Teachers’ Pension Scheme, 24/7 access to an employee assistance programme and a range of family friendly policies.
