Further details about the role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join an established department covering all aspects of teaching responsibilities. We have an open and friendly department, where self-reflection and sharing of good practice is a key and common occurrence. We are collaborative with our planning and share resources and strategies as a general expectation of practice, and our ideal candidate would enjoy working in such a way.

We would be open to someone at the start of their teaching career, who is dynamic, eager, and willing to share up to date pedagogies, or equally someone with more years’ teaching practice, who would be able to bring a wealth of experience and expertise into the department.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is keen to keep their subject and pedagogical knowledge up to date, and whose passion for the subject is shown in both their teaching and their discussions with colleagues. The position also includes the role of form tutor, where the tutor is expected to deliver a core tutorial programme to their form. They will also be integrated into our house system – where the seven houses help to create a support network and opportunity for rewards and active participation in a range of activities for the students
