What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you want to be part of a successful and supportive team?

We are looking for an inspirational Teacher of English with the initiative, drive and determination to teach KS3 and KS4 and contribute to our creative and evolving curriculum. The English department is a collaborative team who are all passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject. Results at Key Stage 4 over the past three years have seen year-on-year improvements due to the hard work and determination of staff and students alike in this area.

As a team who are always at the forefront of innovation in the classroom, we are looking for an individual who can add to this already thriving team, a teacher who builds excellent relationships with students and inspires them in their learning. We offer an exceptional development programme with support which goes beyond the ECT years, and we welcome applications from candidates with all levels of experience.

This is a full-time, permanent role, but part-time hours (0.8 FTE) will be considered.

If you share our vision based on the unshakeable belief that children learn through all aspects of their daily lives and that their values and knowledge, experiences and habits are as important as their academic qualifications, we would be delighted to hear from you.

What the school offers its staff

A comprehensive induction programme is provided for all new staff. We are committed to continual bespoke professional development opportunities, e.g. access to peer coaching, non-whole-lesson observations, a 1% improvement culture and personalised training. Staff benefits include a two-week autumn half-term break, teachers’ pension scheme, staff wellbeing group, staff association, free gym use and ample on-site parking.

Commitment to safeguarding

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Please refer to the school website for further information regarding our Child Protection & Safeguarding policy. Any successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service.
