Rainhill High was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2023, with English being a deep-dive subject.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and inspirational Teacher of English for September 2023, who has a thirst for knowledge and the drive to
succeed to teach KS3 and KS4 English. The successful candidate will have the capacity to enthuse, engage
and inspire our pupils through strong subject knowledge; someone who thrives on
collaboration and teamwork; a committed professional with high levels of
personal motivation and ambition.

You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to teaching and the ability to develop our students’ love of learning in English. Familiarity with GCSE and KS3 requirements in English
Track record of expertise and raising achievement and securing improvement
Familiarity with A level syllabus requirements in English
Good Degree in relevant subject area
PGCE in relevant subject area
QTS/QTLS
Ability and experience of teaching English at KS3 and GCSE
Relevant, recent experience of working in an 11-16 or 11-18 school
Experience of teaching across the ability spectrum
Enthusiasm and ability to motivate and inspire students and staff
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to enthuse, inspire and motivate students, staff, and parents

Rainhill High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form centre located in Rainhill, Merseyside, England.
The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017. More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson Trust.
