Teacher of English
We are committed to enabling all learners, irrespective of their current attainment, to achieve. Our students take pride in their school, have a good work ethic and are keen to do their very best. As an organisation we have adopted a ‘growth mind-set’ and introduced a monitoring culture to help develop all learners. Pupils are encouraged to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities, outings and competitions throughout the year. Our learners are respectful, polite and work hard to develop into resilient young adults who we are very proud of.

Headline figures include 79 per cent of students achieving an English GCSE grade 9 to 4, with 74 per cent doing so in maths. Similarly impressive results were achieved in biology with 84 per cent achieving 9 to 4, 75 per cent in chemistry and 9 to 4 grades achieved by 80 per cent taking physics.
We have been ranked best in the whole of Hampshire in terms of improving pupils’ performance between GCSE and A-Levels, achieving a progress score of 0.56 which means on average pupils, of the same pre-assessed academic ability, attained more than half a grade higher than their peers nationally. The grades were the best ever achieved at the school with 90% of students achieving a* to C grades and 70% getting A* to B – comfortably exceeding the 76% and 51% attained nationally.
The score placed the school the 12th best nationally for pupil progress and ranked joint 2nd best state A Level provider in the country for centers with over 100 candidates (DfE).
