What skills and experience we're looking for
Main Duties:
- To teach English at all levels and to all abilities, seeking to ensure that all pupils make very good progress, enjoy their learning, and become well educated.
- To contribute more widely to the well-being of our pupils, through the role of form tutor. Undertaking duties, and being a role model for their learning and their conduct.
The successful candidate will be someone who:
- demonstrates flexibility, good teamwork and a commitment to our school's value of ‘Let your light shine’
- is a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of English who will contribute positively to the work of this successful department;
- will teach pupils across the range of age and ability to GCSE level;
- will be an enthusiastic and innovative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to achieving high standards within a successful department;
- is an excellent classroom practitioner;
- has a clear understanding of the characteristics of high-quality teaching and be able and willing to teach across the whole age and ability range;
- can quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with both our young people and colleagues;
- understands that behaviour management starts with the quality of teaching in the classroom;
- demonstrates personal resilience and role model those personal qualities we wish to instil in our young people.
