Teacher of English job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of English, ideally to teach at both KS3 and KS4, to join a friendly and successful English department. An interest in specific strategies aimed at reading recovery, teaching English to students with SEND and raising literacy levels through bespoke intervention programmes would be an advantage. We welcome candidates who may have experience of the English curriculum at KS2 as well as at KS3 and KS4.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated colleague with a strong commitment to outstanding progress for all students and with engaging and effective ideas of how to reduce learning gaps and to accelerate students’ progress targeting reading fluency and comprehension.
The successful candidate will:
• be an excellent practitioner with high expectations of teaching and learning, behaviour and achievement
• build positive relationships with students, giving them the confidence to succeed
• be able to inspire students through the delivery of engaging lessons and to reduce gaps in learning for our students
• be able to support our students to reach their full potential
