Teacher of English job summary

CP Riverside School is an Alternative Provision Free School and a member of the East Midlands Education Trust.

We seek to appoint a Teacher of English who can motivate and inspire students to develop a passion and enthusiasm for English. This position would be suitable for an ECT or experienced teacher.

Our chosen person will work alongside our dedicated team of teachers and support staff to secure our mantra of ‘mainstream education, alternative environment’. The successful candidate will teach English at key stages three and four. Our students are currently taught in classes of up to ten students, with most classes double-staffed to ensure we can meet the needs of our students.

You must be a resilient individual committed to positively impacting the lives of young people. You will teach students with a range of special educational needs, including ADHD and SEMH and students who have been unsuccessful within mainstream schools for various reasons. Therefore, we require all staff members to build healthy relationships with young people, understand and employ restorative practice principles and commit to ongoing professional development.

In return, all staff members receive free access to our SAS Wellbeing support package, protected weekly CPD time, supportive line management practices and opportunities for further professional development through the East Midlands Education Trust Teacher Training Partnership.

A job description & person specification with further information about the role and an application form can be downloaded from the Trust website. Applications must be made on an EMET application form. CVs will not be accepted. No agencies.

On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.

Please send completed applications forms to recruitment@emet.uk.com
