Teacher of English job summary
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, effective and enthusiastic specialist in English from September 2020, at this highly successful, heavily over-subscribed school which is firmly established as one of the highest performing secondary schools in the region (and in the top 10% of schools nationally). We gained ‘Good’ in our 2018 Ofsted inspection and as part of the Local Authority’s quality assurance strategy, we have gained Category 1 status, which is the highest category of school performance, for four years running.
The English Department is particularly strong with a track record of outstanding results, and the successful candidate will be joining a dedicated and passionate team.
The successful candidate needs to have the necessary knowledge and skills to teach all aspects of English to students aged 11-18 years. As we offer both English Language and English Literature at
A Level, we are particularly keen to ensure that candidates have the necessary knowledge and skills to teach one or both of these courses to post-16 students in our growing Sixth Form. Teaching of Drama may also be available for suitably qualified candidates.
We invite applications from excellent classroom practitioners who can motivate, engage and inspire our students and work collaboratively with colleagues. We offer an incredibly positive school culture, opportunities for further professional development and strong support from the Faculty Leader and the Senior Leadership Team.
Salary: Pay range between £24,371 - £40,489 per annum
Closing Date: 12.00 noon, Friday 24th January 2020
