January 2024 Start

We are looking for a passionate Teacher of English to join our dynamic and supportive team. Our department has a wealth of experience in teaching English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 students.

As a department, we follow the AQA exam board for both English Language and Literature, specialising in these subjects at KS3 and KS4. We have a dedicated corridor with seven classrooms, equipped with View Sonic boards and three suites of laptops/chrome books available for student use. Our curriculum is broad and balanced and we use a mix of modern, literary heritage, and brand-new texts, ensuring that our students have access to the most current and engaging resources, which challenges them to develop not only their literacy and oracy skills, but their thinking, analytical and problem solving approaches too. We have an online shared area for teachers to use for their planning, where resources and lessons are regularly shared and use Google Classroom to communicate with students, set homework, and provide revision materials.

We welcome applications from middle leaders with a strong track record leading a department, as well as those who have other leadership experience or experienced teachers ready for their next challenge.

Visits to the academy are encouraged. For an informal discussion about the post please contact Julie Joiner, PA to Head of School
