What skills and experience we're looking for

Would you like to teach and discuss literature with students who enjoy reading? Would you like to join an extremely successful team of English specialists as they continue to develop and innovate? Would you like the opportunity to teach classes in the Sixth Form?

We seek to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic graduate teacher of English from September 2023 to join a highly successful department in an ‘outstanding’ selective school. The post can be full or part time, is a permanent position, and we welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs. This is an opportunity to work in a friendly environment which encourages professional development.

All students take English Language and English Literature at GCSE and achieve outstanding results. English is a popular and successful subject in the Sixth Form where all students follow the International Baccalaureate (teachers of A level English Literature will adapt quickly to the IB Literature course). The department comprises 11 well-qualified subject specialists and contributes significantly to a vibrant extra-curricular offer.
