Teacher of English job summary
Harris Academy Battersea is seeking to appoint a inspirational and passionate qualified Teacher of English. If you are an NQT at the start of your career or someone who can lead whole-school change as a Lead Practitioner then we would welcome an application from you and will offer you all the support that we can to develop irrespective of the point that you are at in the profession.
You must hold QTS (or equivalent) to apply for this role.

What we are looking for
We look for talented individuals who want to be a part of transforming education in London, and helping create exceptional places of learning. The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
Show an understanding of the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3, 4 and 5
Understand the importance of having high expectations for all students, both of behaviour and academic achievement
Understand inclusive provision and practices which offer equality of access to the curriculum for all students, including SEND, EAL and high achievers
Have knowledge and experience of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
Have a good level of ICT skills
Understand the importance of being a Tutor.
