Teacher of English Key stage 3 to A-Level job summary

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching English to GCSE, and potentially to A-Level.

The post would suit an NQT, or a teacher seeking to broaden their experience. The school is committed to providing appropriate support and encouragement to the successful candidate, whatever their level of experience.

The successful candidate will be a motivational classroom practitioner who possesses a palpable enthusiasm for the subject. He or she will be excited by the opportunity to teach highly able students, and to contribute to a school culture of high aspiration and growth.

The candidate should have:

 Confident subject knowledge of English Language and Literature, and its role in the 21st curriculum
 Excellent teaching skills, with the desire to continually and reflect and develop professionally
 A genuine interest in young people and their personal growth
 A commitment to challenging and supporting students to help them to achieve beyond what they think possible
 The desire to contribute to a culture of whole school collaboration and development
 An appreciation of, and commitment to, to the broader life of the school community
