Teacher of English Key Stage Lead job summary
Job Description
We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage English lead, with exceptional subject knowledge, to inspire, shape, and steer our team and curriculum in the right direction. We are looking for an innovative and strategic thinker, with vision and ideas, who leads by example, and someone who believes in research informed strategies to accelerate progress, and maximise our students’ outcomes.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about their subject, brimming with ideas and initiatives to help enhance teaching practice, learning and outcomes for all groups of learners. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and energetic team who strive to ensure that all students enjoy learning and surpass expectations.
Avanti House is a secondary school 11-19 school that opened in 2012. Currently there are 1202 students with a Sixth Form of 302. Avanti schools are Hindu-designated faith schools. However, all staff members at Avanti House School will not be required to present themselves from any specific faith background and there will be no preference given in this regard.

The English department in Avanti House School currently consists of an outstanding team of English teachers, with a shared vision and passion, working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our students. What will you do?
Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class(es) ensuring equality of opportunity for all

What are we looking for?
Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach
Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils’ you teach
Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on these, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn
