What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivational KS2/KS3 English Teacher with the ability to teach to a professional standard who understands effective student learning through challenging, high quality and exciting teaching methods.

This is an exciting and somewhat rare opportunity for someone with KS2/KS3 experience to bring their knowledge and skills into a secondary setting. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of key reading and phonics strategies to support students that have knowledge gaps from their primary education.

The successful candidate will possess the expertise to inspire and engage students, and will be determined to get the best from our diverse cohort of students, ensuring they make their very best progress. This will be achieved through planning and delivering engaging lessons, which will inspire our learners to succeed with the opportunity to teach across KS3. They must be able to deliver phonics reading strategies to support students in bridging their reading ability in line with their chronological age.

The Crestwood School is a secondary school for children between the ages of 11 and 16. It is a coeducational establishment which was converted to academy status in March 2015. It is based in the town of Kingswinford, West Midlands, in Dudley. At present, the Crestwood School has around 645 students being educated at the establishment.
