Teacher of English (KS3 Lead) job summary
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious practitioner to join a constantly improving and highly aspirational English department in a ‘Good’ school.
You will work closely with the Curriculum Leader and KS4 Lead and be a key stakeholder in the development of teaching and learning within the department, wider strategic planning and the provision of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. You will have responsibility for curriculum planning and delivery of Key Stage 3 English. This role would suit a skilled classroom practitioner who is interested in progression into middle leadership.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with English leaders across the Trust and have meaningful impact on the development and refinement of Trust-wide provision of English. As a through-school we are developing the provision of the English curriculum through the Key Stages, and you will work with primary colleagues to build an innovative and ambitious programme of English study.
The chosen candidate will need to:
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner
- Have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff and pupils
- Have a drive for continuing professional development
- Have experience of managing change and development
- Have high expectations of all pupils
- Be committed to continuous improvement and engage in research
- Be excited by the prospect and opportunities of working in a Multi Academy Trust
