We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Teacher of English and Media Studies to join our Faculty at The Castle School, Thornbury on a permanent basis from September 2022. The postholder will be paid on MPS.

This role would be suitable for an ECT.

We are easily commutable from across Bristol, Gloucester and South Wales with excellent links to both the M5 and M4.

About the role

You will teach both English and Media Studies across Key Stages three, four and five. Your primary role will be to support and challenge all students to achieve their full potential and achieve academic success through strong classroom practice. You will be expected to contribute to the priorities of the English and Media Studies team, including the quality of curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment. You will also be expected to act as a role model to all students - upholding the school values, and at all times promoting the safety and welfare of young people in accordance with CSET/School policies and procedures and any associated guidance.

About you

The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, passionate and a real team player who is seeking to hone their subject knowledge and pedagogy and demonstrates a willingness to learn. You will be able to demonstrate initiative in your role, as well as being agile so as to meet changing needs in your environment. You will be ICT proficient and have an excellent knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum. You will be able to build effective relationships and be a positive role model for the students. We welcome applications from NQTs.
