What skills and experience we're looking for
Required for January 2025, an enthusiastic and well qualified part time teacher of English to join a highly successful, strong, and dynamic English Department. The successful candidate will be able to teach English across all key stages and an ability to teach Literature or Language and Literature in the Sixth Form is desirable.
To be successful you will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner with a commitment to delivering high quality teaching and learning. We are looking for teachers who actively remove barriers to learning, communicate a passion for their subject and inspire, motivate and enthuse students in their studies of language and literacy.
This is an ideal opportunity for a new entrant to the profession although equally attractive to a more experienced colleague. We have a positive commitment to supporting Early Careers teachers and a comprehensive programme of career development.
Examination results in 2023 for GCSE English Language 90% 9-4 (ALPS 3), and English Literature were 88% 9-4 (ALPS 5). A Level results: English Language & Literature 65% A*-B, English Literature 75% A*-B. English IBH 86% 7-5, and English IBS 79% 7-5.
