Small enough to care, big enough to make a positive impact
As an age 9 - 13 middle school in south east Northumberland with good standards of teaching and behaviour and a strong commitment to improvement, we believe passionately that every student should be enabled to succeed in all aspects of school life. Building on our ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, we continue to strive for further improvements.
We are recruiting for a Teacher of English to join our team, to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post holder, expected to be from February 2025 for 12 months.
Are you the kind of teacher who wants to inspire every student to exceed, beyond their expectations? This specialist role is to teach English in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, you should have experience in teaching across the two key stages and a strong background in English.
We are a popular thriving school with 333 students, one of our key priorities is to keep class sizes small as we believe this gives pupils, and staff, the best chance to succeed. We are very proud of our pupils, and do our very best to nurture and develop them as they grow.
In Key Stage 2, there is a definite ‘primary’ feel to the pupils' learning, although they do have access to specialist teachers in French, PE, music and technology. This continues throughout Key Stage 3, enabling a smooth transition to high school.
Student behaviour and attitudes to learning are good throughout the school and we need a highly motivated individual who can enable students to exceed their expectations and have high aspirations for their futures.
Visits to the school are also warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Karen McSparron, Head of School on 0191 2370629 or email vacancies@svf.org.uk to make an appointment.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is
essential that all staff and volunteers share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required for all posts.
