Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful and popular 11-19 mixed comprehensive school with a rapidly growing roll (currently 775 students). It has a caring ethos and a long tradition of high academic attainment.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, talented and well-qualified English teacher to join a successful and supportive English and Performing Arts faculty full-time from September 2022. Candidates should have the right attributes to make a valid contribution to the wider school community and ensure that our pupils make excellent progress.
The successful candidate will also have the desire and ability to work with the Director of Literacy to strengthen the links between the Drama and English curriculums in order to support pupil progress in both subject areas.
Drama is delivered from within the English curriculum by the whole faculty. Therefore, experience of teaching Drama, whilst desirable, is not essential, but it is expected that the successful candidate has the desire and ability to do so. The successful candidate will also have the desire and ability to work with the Head of English and Performing Arts Faculty to strengthen the links between the Drama and English curriculums in order to support pupil progress in both subject areas.
