TEACHER OF ENGLISH
We are looking for a highly motivated newly qualified teacher of English to join a team committed to raising standards and expectations.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in and help shape our Academy, at an exciting stage in its development. The post reflects the continued expansion of the Academy and offers significant scope for professional and career development as the Academy continues to grow in size.
The successful candidate should be an ambitious colleague who combines excellent organisational skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students. They should be a hardworking, creative, energetic, and excellent classroom practitioner. They will have the capacity to help us establish a vibrant learning environment, and a culture of enthusiasm for learning. Their professionalism and dedication will enable our students to achieve more than they believe possible.
This well established Faculty specialises in English and Modern Foreign Languages. English is taught from Year 7 through to GCSE with the IB English Language and Literature and English Literature and Performance Diploma programme courses on offer in the Sixth Form. English GCSE begins in Year 9 and the team deliver both English Language and English Literature within WJEC. MFL comprises of French and Spanish with French being taught from Year 7 to Year 11 and Spanish is delivered at GCSE. The Communication Faculty is a successful Faculty that has grown significantly over the past 5 years reflecting the growth of the Academy. The team consists of 9 subject specialists who are dedicated classroom practitioners.
The Position
Working within the Communication Faculty, which includes English and Modern Foreign Languages, the post of Teacher of English is permanent and full-time. We have a strong commitment to professional development and provide appropriate training to ensure all teachers at the Academy are good and outstanding classroom practitioners as well as enabling them to grow as leaders for the future. We are seeking an outstanding subject specialist who is keen to support the further development of the Communication Faculty.
